OUR MISSION
What was once a physical farm site located just down the street from the Uptown Shelter, has now evolved into a business where we source ingredients from local farmers to make 'value added' finished food products. These products could eventually provide the jobs necessary for people who find themselves homeless, to achieve the self sufficiency they desire.
Local produce and ingredients are 'HANDCRAFTED' into sumptuous pies, which comprise the Opportunity Farms line of finished food products.
Every dollar we take in from the sale of baked goods goes directly towards a compensation package for the homeless which includes; a place of their own to live, 3 meals a day and a weekly stipend. This, along with job training and educational resources, should allow them to transition back into main stream society.
